Editing is strangely similar to cat care: just like when petting a cat, editing requires careful hands and an instinctive understanding of when to stop; you become very good at remembering obscure rules and paying extra close attention to seemingly unimportant details; and you always approach each new project (cat) as an individual, remembering what you've learned but knowing there are still things (cats) out there that you haven't yet encountered.
